These works carry my voice and the voices of many women: we leave with the memory of our homeland, yet we learn to adapt, grow roots in new soil, and create a home while keeping the invisible thread that ties us to our past.Эти работы несут мой голос и голоса многих женщин: мы уезжаем, сохраняя память о родине, но учимся адаптироваться, пускать корни на новой земле и создавать дом, не теряя невидимой нити, которая связывает нас с прошлым.
Iana Kondakova is a Barcelona-based artist whose painting has become a personal diary of change. Her work reflects experiences that are difficult to express in words.
Last year, she explored migration - suitcases, displacement, leaving home and beginning again - inspired by her own journey from Russia to Spain.
This year, her gaze turns inward. The swan appears as a reflection of personal crisis and inner transformation, exploring intimacy and distance, solitude and connection, vulnerability and strength. Rather than telling one specific story, Kondakova's paintings capture what happens to us when the familiar begins to shift - and how, in moments of uncertainty, we inevitably begin to change with it.
