Why do stars shine in the night sky? And the sun during the day? How did our world come to be? What came first? And what existed in the distant past?
These questions touch the soul, spark curiosity and interest, and - it seems to me - have inspired countless artists throughout human history. They resonate deeply with me, too.
The painting series "Where Stars Are Born" is a reflection on how the people of one of the world’s oldest civilizations perceived the sky in ancient times - how they viewed it, what they associated with it, and the meaning they imbued it with. Whether we look up at any time of day or from any corner of the globe, we behold Infinity! It is vast and profound - impossible to fully grasp. Yet this strange phenomenon - visible to the eye but beyond our touch - has stirred a multitude of emotions and fantasies from ancient times to the present day.
